Island Associates Consultancy (IAC) work with clients across the public, community and private sectors. Current and recent clients of IAC include:
1. Local Authorities:

Brighton & Hove City Council, Kent County Council, Crawley Borough Council, Oxford City Council: IAC have worked with all these authorities to improve their workforce development plans and implementation. IAC supported the authorities to analyse and address the learning needs of low-skilled service staff.

Isle of Wight Council: IAC have worked with the Arts Unit and Agenda21 Team to produce a Learning Plan for the West Wight Landscape Partnership. Developed as part of a £2million Heritage Lottery project, the Plan aims to promote the use of the local landscape for education and community learning.
IAC are also advisers to the Aimhigher Working Group which has been set up to promote greater take-up of higher education opportunities by young people.

Southampton City Council: The Head Teachers of the 5 special schools in Southampton have commissioned IAC to undertake a baseline study and development of an extended schools programme.
2. Community Groups / Schools:

Polygon School, Southampton: Polygon is a special school catering for 11-16 year old boys with emotional and behavioural difficulties. IAC have successfully secured funding for the school to develop and deliver a "Self-Discovery Programme" aimed at enabling the pupils to better regulate their behavioural difficulties.

Springwell School, Southampton: Springwell is a special school catering for 4-11 years old children with severe and complex learning difficulties. IAC are advising the school on securing grant funding for a number of initiatives.

Maytree Nursery & Infants School, Southampton: With 97% of pupils coming from ethnic minority families, IAC are advising the school on securing grant funding for a number of initiatives aimed at promoting parental engagement and social cohesion.

Medina House School, Newport, Isle of Wight: Medina House is a special school catering for children with severe learning difficulties. IAC have successfully secured funding for a number of initiatives including support for the Parents Group, development of a sensory garden and play provision.

Hampshire Devevelopment Education Centre (HDEC): IAC have been appointed as fund raising consultants to HDEC - a registered charity which aims to help children and young people become aware of their growing roles, rights and responsibilities within the global community.
3. Learning & Skills Councils / FE Colleges:

South East LSC: IAC have supported the SE Region LSC on a number of projects and provider/ employer liaison. Currently, IAC are assisting the SE Region LSC with project management activities for the EQUAL funded ENGAGE project. This is a National ESF Equal funded initiative to support offenders into employment.

Isle of Wight FE College: Island Associates have been advising the College on the development of workplace training proposals to be funded by SEEDA (South East England Development Agency).
4. Regional Development agencies:

SEEDA: IAC has a long established relationship with this Regional Development Agency. Recently, IAC has assisted the SEEDA Learning and Skills team in identifying appropriate delivery provider and change agents for their Skills for Life agenda, and in the development of funding specifications aimed at workforce development support.

SWERDA: IAC has advised on good practice with skills development for employed people in other regions and disseminated best practice advice on Skills for Life across the region.

London Development Agency: as part of a consultancy team, IAC has assisted the LDA with development of a policy response to public sector workforce skills needs.
5. Sector Skills Councils:

Skills for Health, Skills Active and Skills for Care: Over the past year IAC has assisted these SSC’s in research, to establish the workforce training needs of their employer stakeholders, and in development and delivery of bespoke training materials to address these needs. Most recently, IAC has assisted Skills for Care in development of a new tool for induction training for the care sector workforce.
6. Health Authorities:

Southampton University Hospital Trust, IoW NHS Trust, Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Foundation NHS Trust: IAC has carried out research into job learning methods and implemented a range of capacity building training to meet the "Agenda for Change" policy framework.
7. Other public & private sector clients:

Ecotec: In the last 12 months IAC has assisted Ecotec in the assessment of bids to 4 significant LSC/ LDA ESF co-financing rounds in the London and Birmingham areas. IAC has a clear understanding of both LSC and RDA funding methodologies and can assist funders with both specification development and bid assessment.

Camphill Prison, Isle of Wight: IAC has worked with Camphill to develop staff and prison officer learning opportunities. IAC have also advised on the development of strategic plans for workforce training and development.
